I am an artist, designer and educator. I live in Los Angeles with my wife and 2 teenage kids. After studying Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art in England I switched my attention to Illustration and Graphic Design as a means of earning a living. Since 1998 I have taught Graphic Design classes. I currently teach at Cal State University Long Beach and Mission College. I also continue to work as a graphic designer. Since 2006; beginning with a show at The Harmony Gallery in Hollywood called "Urban Landscapes" I have begun to exhibit my work in galleries. I have shown at The Hive Gallery, TruxTop, Black Maria and Under the table. Encouraged by sales of my work I am gradually spending more of my time creating my paintings, collages, drawings and sculptures.

My influences are varied but here are a few. I'm heavily influenced by large areas 20th century modern and post-modern art especially the surrealists and pop art. I am also interested in street art, Banksy, Obey and the like. I owe a large debt to the city of Los Angeles for constant visual stimulus and to many graphic designers such as David carson, Neville Brody, Paul Rand and Wes Wilson to name but a few.

The only thing I like better than the process of making art is when people buy my art, thats the greatest compliment.

I fine it hard to talk about my work, I begin images and allow them to develop organically, in this regard you could say that they are surreal because they reflect my subconscious. I am an extremely unreligious person and I am wary of using the word spiritual because it's so vague and hippy-like. However, when I make art things feel correct, it flows easily as if I were a conduit for some higher power. Whatever it is I am obsessed with making art.
